Judy Fairbanks (nee Whorms) has always had a deep-rooted interest in her Jamaican family and a fondness for stories that reveal the human spirit in everyday life.  

She is the daughter of a Jamaican father, born in the Dry Harbour Mountains in the parish of St. Ann, and a Canadian mother, born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. 

She lives in Calgary, Alberta, with her husband, Cal, and their two cats, Ari and Jasper.
